The Hon. Kathleen Mulcahy, Mayor of Sag Harbor, NY being presented with the coffee table edition of 'Simply Antigua Barbuda' by The Hon. Charles 'Max' Fernandez, Minister of Tourism and Investment, Government of Antigua and Barbuda
Sag Harbor, NY, August 9, 2019 – Once again, Antigua and Barbuda brings the excitement to Sag Harbor in the tony Hamptons area of Long Island, NY as the annual 'Antigua Barbuda Hamptons Challenge Regatta' gears up.
The challenge takes place on Saturday, August 10, 2019 and Antigua and Barbuda dignitaries are already on hand and ready to hand out the most coveted sailing prize in the Northeast US -- an all-expense paid trip to Antigua to compete in Antigua Sailing Week 2020, recognized as one of the top 5 regattas in the world.
Just today, Honorable Minister Charles “Max” Fernandez met with Sag Harbor Mayor Kathleen Mulcahy to discuss the ongoing relationship between the twin-island nation’s English Harbour and Sag Harbor including the possibility of establishing them as sister cities. The Minister was accompanied by Colin James, CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA), and Dean Fenton, ABTA Director of Tourism USA. The team engaged in extensive meetings and media interviews to raise awareness on Antigua and Barbuda in the Hamptons
The race, which is open to participants and sailing enthusiasts alike, will be followed by the Antigua Barbuda Cocktail Awards Party that will take place at Sag Harbor’s Breakwater Yacht Club.
