The Antigua & Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association (ABHTA) is pleased to unveil its 2025 Official Calendar of Events, featuring a dynamic range of professional learning opportunities, industry conferences, and signature hospitality showcases. From specialized certification courses in Purchasing and Cost Control Management and Housekeeping to the much-anticipated CHTA Marketplace, Taste of Wadadli Junior Chef Competition, and the Antigua & Barbuda Tourism Gala Awards, this year’s calendar is designed to support growth, innovation, and excellence in the local tourism and hospitality sector.

ABHTA Professional Learning Series

The Antigua & Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association is kicking off 2025 with the return of the highly anticipated Purchasing & Cost Control Management Certification Course! This essential training is designed for hospitality and food service professionals looking to maximize profits and improve cost efficiency.
Led by Ms. Shabera Jacobs, this course will take place on March 5 & 6, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM at the Antigua and Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute, cost of only EC$800.00. Participants will gain the tools and strategies needed to manage costs effectively while maintaining quality and operational efficiency.
By the end of this certification course, you will have the skills to develop customized cost control strategies, analyze financial statements, and implement efficient purchasing and inventory management systems that support profitability.

The ABHTA is set to host another highly anticipated training—the Housekeeping Certification 2-Day Course on March 18 & 19, 2025, at the Antigua and Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute.
Facilitated by Ms. Patricia Tully, this intensive training will cover essential housekeeping skills, including professionalism, cleaning techniques, towel art, customer service, and the vital role of the housekeeping department. Designed for hospitality professionals looking to refine their skills and enhance service standards, this course offers a comprehensive approach to best practices in housekeeping. The training runs from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM each day at a cost of EC$750.00.
