National Heroes Day in Antigua & Barbuda is celebrated on October 26th

It is a public holiday commemorating the life of the first Prime Minister of Antigua & Barbuda, the Honourable Sir Vere Cornwall Bird Sr. also known as Papa Bird.

Banks and many businesses are closed on this day.
