THE LATEST ENTRIES FOR ANTIGUA CLASSICS 2019 Wednesday 30th January 2019
New and old entries keep registering so our 32nd Regatta in April is looking like it will be a very exciting and competitive event, what with the new courses, upwind starts and the introduction of the new Historic Class (for yachts designed or built before 1976) and bringing back the Dragon Class. The NOR has been posted on our website www.antiguaclassics.com giving details regarding the two new classes which we hope will encourage many more applications from classic boats hitherto not deemed eligible for this event, so register now!
Recent registrations include the 3-masted schooner XARIFA (see above), built in 1927, who recently received line honours in the Panerai Transat Classique from Lanzarote to St Kitts; another participant in the same race, 1965 Abeking & Rasmussen yawl HILARIA (see below), will also be joining us in April as will 1936 Rodney Paul Bermudian ketch COCH Y BONDU together with 1936 Bermudan ketch EILEAN, already signed on.
Previous participant Carriacou sloop NEW MOON (see below) will be back under new ownership (she will be based in Antigua as a floating classroom for young people learning how to sail on a traditionally-built Caribbean vessel) and racing in the Traditional Class. Tommy Paterson’s 1960 sloop RITA is another recent addition.
