ANTIGUA YACHT CLUB MARINA RESORT

This isn't your typical Caribbean hotel - it isn't on the beach and it doesn't have a pool - but we loved it! We stayed at an all-inclusive on the same trip, which was luxurious and lovely, but we probably preferred our time here - there's a lot more going on (bars, restaurants, Nelson's dockyard) and two beautiful beaches in reaching distance (Galleon bay is a 2 minute boat taxi away, Pigeon Beach a ten minute walk).

It's a great area to stay in - very lively - and the hotel has beautiful grounds, large rooms and a really friendly, helpful staff. The views are great - it overlooks the marina and all the amazing boats - and the rooms are nice. I'd definitely stay here again - while the all-inclusives are nice, I find it gets a bit boring to be in the same spot all the time, whereas this is still a beautiful part of the island but there's a lot more to do, especially if you hire a car.

I'd recommend the hotel. It's got a great location and as I said, nice and large rooms (though the bed was very hard) and a friendly staff. If you do stay here, Trappas (just around the corner) has great food and Mad Mongoose seems to be where everyone goes at night! Make sure to visit Pigeon beach at sunset (perfect view).

Great hotel and great area...would definitely return.
