“Beaches are a national asset and as such need to be pristine in order to continue to ensure that we deliver on our visitors expectations of beautiful beaches, and clean ones at that” says Alison Sly-Adams. She continues, “The Beach May be ‘Just the Beginning’ however if our beaches are not clean, free of debris and litter, tourists will not enjoy their vacation, and will easily vote with their feet and not come back’. The Antigua and Barbuda Sport Fishing Club celebrates the 3^rd Annual Francis Nunes Jr. Fishing Tournament and Seafood Festival and chairman of the Club Phillip Shoul is keen to support efforts. “Galleon Beach is the closest beach to our event headquarters in Nelson’s Dockyard.  It is only right that we get involved in this initiative as for many of our members this is the area from which they derive their income. “

 

Meeting in the car park at the Galleon Beach Resort at 8am this coming Saturday the team will work for two hours to clean the beach and coast line. Please bring your own gloves. Garbage bags will be provided along with cold drinks to help keep everyone cool.
