ASW SPONSORS TRISKELL CUP Friday 31st October 2014
Antigua Sailing Week, in conjunction with its sponsor English Harbour 5 Year Old Rum, will once again sponsor a cocktail hour at the Triskell Cup Regatta to be held in Guadeloupe from November 8 through 10. This is the third year running that Antigua Sailing Week will host the event.
Antigua’s Bernie Evan-Wong and his crew will be participating in the Triskell Cup Regatta on Bernie’s newest racing boat TAZ, a Reichel Pugh 37 formerly known as Slippery. Crew member Alan Scholl, also part of the Antigua Sailing Week team, will take the lead in hosting the rum cocktail hour. In addition to rum, there will be Antigua Sailing Week t-shirts to be given out to regatta participants.
The Triskell Cup Regatta is an annual event that has been held for many years now which attracts boats from around the region and in particular from Martinique and Antigua. The numbers of participants in the past have reached close to 100 boats but it is expected this year that approximately 35-40 boats will participate.
Next year the dates for the Triskell Cup Regatta will be moved to March 11-15. The event is likely to become one of three regattas in a new series to be developed which will include regattas in Martinique, the Triskell Cup Regatta and Antigua Sailing Week.
Good luck to Bernie Evan-Wong and crew racing on TAZ.
