ANTIGUA SAILING WEEK 2013 PRESS INFORMATION Monday 15th April 2013
Antigua Sailing Week starts in less than two weeks and will commence with the Yachting World Round Antigua Race on Saturday 27th April and conclude on Friday 3rd May 2013. If you are attending this year, we look forward to seeing you soon. If you are unable to be there in person but wish to receive daily updates etc, please see the information below:-
Media Accreditation
If you have not already accredited and wish to do so, please complete the online form HERE.
NB: If you only wish to accredit for the Big Party Night on Tuesday 30th April please do so by emailing: anthon.went@gmail.com
Media Registration: Thurs 25 (9-5pm) + Fri 26th April (9-4pm)
Media Registration will take place in the Media Centre, located in a new separate facility on the upper level in the building next to Antigua Yacht Club, Falmouth Harbour. At registration you will be issued with your media pass and press pack.
Media Centre Facilities:
The centre will be open daily from 8am to 7pm from Wednesday 24th April to Friday 3rd May (last day of operation). A wi-fi internet connection will be provided. A notice board will be used to post important messages and general press updates.
Getting out on the water:
Although we are unable to provide press boats this year, we will do our best to accommodate your requirements to race on board a yacht/s during the regatta. We would like to set this up as soon as possible, so please let me know your requirements and if you would like any help with contacting suitable boats: media@sailingweek.com
Press VIP Reception - Saturday 27th April
Please note, accredited media are invited to attend a VIP Press Reception on Saturday 27th April from 5.30-7pm at The Copper and Lumber Hotel, Nelson's Dockyard. Complimentary drinks courtesy English Harbour Rum, Chivas and Quin Farara Wines and complimentary canapés from IL Giardino Restaurant and Lounge Bar. There will be a chance to interview organisers, competitors and sponsors about the regatta. Please RSVP: media@sailingweek.com if you are able to attend. The Antigua Sailing Week Welcome Party and Yachting World Round Antigua Race Prize Giving will follow this reception.
Race Reports:
Daily race reports/press release will be sent out to accredited media and a worldwide press list.
Video Coverage:
Acquafilms will be filming daily throughout the event. Video will be uploaded to YouTube and embed codes will be available for insertion into your website. Daily round up reports will be distributed via YouTube and our mailing list.
VNR's will be uploaded daily to our FTP server. Please request login details if you wish to use it. Any requests for commercial usage of footage must be requested in writing to: roddy@acquafilms.com
Images:
Low res images will be loaded daily onto the website and a selection of images will be issued with the press release. These are copyright free and must be used with supplied credit. Hi-res can be made available on request.
Social Media:
Sailing Week is active on Facebook with circa 3660 fans and growing. Updates will be issued throughout the day every day.
