THE SKINNY ON THE SHORESIDE Tuesday 26th April 2022
It`s the very last week before the kick off of the long anticipated Antigua Sailing Week (ASW) and so there's no other time to present the round-up of what’s happening post-race on the shoreside!
Sailors will be happy to hear that Carib Beer is the Official Beer of ASW 2022, ensuring that ice cold beers post hot racing will be available daily as well as at all official parties and venues throughout the week.
Brand manager Frances-Ann Attong of Bryden’s Antigua is delighted, ‘Sailing Week is an iconic event on the Antigua calendar and Carib Brewery are really pleased to be able to support the comeback year following two successive cancellations.’
Courtesy of ASW, each participating crew member will be receiving a starter kit of Carib beer during the registration process. If you're not part of the registration process, fret not, there will be lots more Carib where that came from. Ice cold beers are available at the AYC lawn bars which will be open from 3pm daily throughout the event.
First impressions are all that matter, so we are asking all crews attending the Official Welcome and Peters & May event on Saturday 30th April at 3pm to come out in their best fancy dress shirts like its the first day back at school after a really long summer.
The week`s calendar is shaping up nicely and we are happy to finally share it with you.
For your personal celebrations after prizegivings, we recommend you visit our bar & restaurant partners page to book in at some of the best dining & social spaces here in English Harbour. Please note that Antigua will be observing a closed Lobster season starting on May 1, so book in for your lobster dinners for the weekend that you arrive.
After the challenge of the first half of racing and a wild night celebrating at Reggae In The Park (more on that later), we invite you meet us at Pigeon Point beach, to enjoy the hot barbecues, refreshing English Harbour Rum cocktails, cold Carib beers, and fun games throughout the day.
Lay Day is the ultimate no-fuss beach affair, so come as you are when the event starts at 12pm! There you will find fun activities in and out of the water including dinghy racing, swimming challenges, SUP, Giant Jenga, Corn hole, Tug of War, team challenges and much more
Dinghy Races and SUP races will be crew challenges so be sure to enter your crew here for the chance to win the end of the week Best Party Crew! Email info@sailingweek.com with team name and which races you want to enter.
Or if chillaxing and people watching is more your speed, feel free to hangout at the yacht club or the beach and toast to life's little victories with Bottega Spa Prosecco before the sets on another beautiful day at Antigua Sailing Week!
