EAG AND MOMENTS IN NATURE TAKE HIKERS TO HISTORIC CLARENCE HOUSE, MANGROVES, AND GALLEON BEACH Tuesday 23rd March 2010
The Environmental Awareness Group (EAG), in conjunction with the Moment is Captured photography is planning the third outing of a monthly photo-hiking tour in Antigua and Barbuda, Sunday, March 28th, led by EAG board member and professional photographer Robby Breadner. Bring your cameras for a tutorial!
Start time is 7:30AM at the entrance to Galleon Beach. Running or hiking footwear is required, and participants are asked to bring water, snacks, hat, sunscreen, and swimwear.
This Sunday’s MOMENTS in NATURE hike is comprised of two shorter and quite different excursions with a refreshing short break in-between. Hike 1 starts at Galleon Beach, through Lookout Point, to Shirley Heights, down the dramatic coastline through an old fort ruin and back to Galleon Beach, where everyone will break, have a snack and cool off with an ocean dip. Hike 2 takes place nearby at the Slipway where this relatively flat trek will pass through mangroves, several historic sites including Clarence House, and along the ocean.
The EAG runs on donations, so a $20EC donation is requested per adult, while there is no cost for children under 16. Enough money was raised from last month’s hike to replace a broken internet router in the EAG's office, located at the national museum.
The trip will be photographed and photos will be posted on 365antigua.com and eagantigua.org. Check out these websites for more information on the hikes, which take place on the last Sunday morning of each month, and also to view previous photo galleries. See you Sunday!
