EAG OCTOBER HAPPENINGS
Wednesday 17th October 2012
RENEWABLE ENERGY:

The EAG’s October monthly meeting will return the spotlight to RENEWABLE ENERGY. Our guest speaker will be Elliott Lincoln, Managing Director of Themba Biofuels.

Themba Biofuels, located here in Antigua, collects used cooking oil for converting to biodiesel which can then be used to power your vehicles and other motorized machinery. Learn about this initiative that helps to reduce our carbon footprint and find out how you can help too on Thursday 25th October, 2012 at 7 pm upstairs the Museum of Antigua & Barbuda on Long Street.  All are welcome.

SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING:

The EAG is calling all members to a Special General Meeting (SGM) on Thursday 25th October, 2012. The EAG’s constitution stipulates that an Annual General Meeting (AGM) be held in October at which time an account of the audited finances is given and elections are held. This year, it has taken much longer than expected to put the books in order in preparation for the annual audit. We have been receiving help from two volunteers with extensive accounting experience and are now on the right track but are still well behind where we should be. Therefore, at the SGM, we will be requesting your permission to delay the AGM to a later date. In keeping with the EAG’s constitution, if you are a financial member please be there to vote on this important resolution following our guest speaker’s presentation.

SNORKELING FIELD TRIP:

For EAG’s October field trip, get ready to put on a mask and flippers. If you don’t have your own, there will be some available onboard. AND, you don’t need to know how to swim!
We're hitting the water for a snorkeling trip to Cades Reef to be followed by a relaxing cruise to see Rendezvous Bay from the ocean side and also some turtle watching at one of their favorite hang-out spots (sightings not guaranteed!). All of this marine fun will take place on Saturday 27th October.

Arrive at the Jolly Harbour dock at 12:45pm for the trip from 1-4pm. Cost: EC$100 for EAG members and EC$120 for non-members. Please bring your own drinks. Payment must be made at the EAG office (upstairs the Museum on Long Street), between 8am and noon, by Friday 19th October. Space is very limited so sign up early.

For more information, visit our website . The EAG October snorkeling field trip is being facilitated by Adventure Antigua.
