ANTIGUA & BARBUDA SPORTS FISHING ASSOCIATION

The 9th ‘Best In The West’ Fishing Tournament took place last Saturday November 10th at Doc’s Dock in Jolly Harbour. It was again well supported, with 28 local boats competing for bragging rights and many attractive prizes. It was particularly good to see the number of lady and youth anglers participating.

This time the weather was fine and all enjoyed a magnificent day on the water. Unfortunately, the same could not be said about the fishing! Only 14 boats brought fish to the weigh-station, with a total of 888.5lbs of fish caught.

The tournament maintained its “family day” image with an enjoyable post-fishing get-together of anglers, friends and visitors with excellent food supplied by Jane Thomas.
