46TH ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA SPORT FISHING TOURNAMENT COMING IN MAY Wednesday 15th February 2012
The planning has started for the 46th Annual Antigua and Barbuda Sport Fishing Tournament and organiser and chairman of the event Phillip Shoul says 'The great thing about the Sport fishing Tournament is the crowd who attend. A mix of Antiguans and residents from around the world as well as visitors from the wider Caribbean. Each year we work to improve the event, and this year will be no exception'.
When probed on what the changes might be he will not be pushed other than to guarantee that the delivery of the landside event will surpass all previous years.
Of course the fishermen will be out on the water early each day. The main tournament fishing days are the 26th and 27th May. All boats must register on Friday 25th May. Then for the second year, the one day Antigua and Barbuda Marlin Classic will take place on Monday 28th May. This tournament is marlin only with a minimum weight limit of 500 lbs.
Across the whole weekend prizes in excess of EC$40,000 will again be up for grabs and the lime will be a superb mix of dining on the lawn, entertainment and an excellent atmosphere in the historic setting of Nelson's Dockyard.
Anglers are invited to check out the website http://www.antiguabarbudasportfishing.com/ and to be sure to register early to encourage competition. The organisation again looks forward to welcoming boats from Guadeloupe, St, Barths, St. Maarten and other nearby islands.
