54TH ASF TOURNAMENT WRAP REPORT Wednesday 8th June 2022
The 54th ASF Tournament was certainly one to remember and although the fishing was not as good as previous years, there were still marlin caught and released, and some large pelagic catches.
The winners of the Mikie Pigott Jr. Memorial Classic is Team Double Rum & Coke. They had the only Blue Marlin release of the day for a total of 500 points. There were other teams who had reported hookup's but lost the fish. A total of 11 teams/boats took part.
The winners of the 54th ASF are as follows:
In the Marlin Division
1st Place - Malespine David of Team Marsoukilla with 1 Blue Marlin & 1 Sailfish release for a total of 500 points
2nd Place - Philippe Nuoy of Team Douglas with 1 Blue Marlin release for 450 points.
3rd Place - Jo Troudart of Team Reel Adventure with 1 Blue Marlin release for 450 points.
In the Sporting Division
1st Place - Michael Hall of Team Striker One with a total poundage of 201.4lbs.
2nd Place - Marco Bento of Team Smooth Runnings with a total poundage of 181.7lbs
3rd Place - Dr. Nick Fuller of Team Salt Shaker A with a total poundage of 153.2lbs
In the 25ft & Under Sporting Division
1st Place - Marco Bento of Team Smooth Runnings with a total poundage of 181.7lbs
2nd Place - Kevin Geiger of Team Grewsome with a total poundage of 149.9lbs
3rd Place - Zecler Alain of Team Big Sword Fish Too with a total poundage of 43lbs
Top Male Angler in the Marlin Division - Rodolphe Payen of Team Doublas with 450 points
Top Female Angler in the Marlin Division - Audrey Erepmoc of Team Reel Adventure with 450 points
