“Iconic and Charming” - Reviewed February 18th, 2015
If you are the sort of independent traveller who enjoys staying in hotels with charm, this is for you. Otherwise Antigua has a glut of 'exclusive' resort-hotels if you want a pool, busy bar and quick access to a beach. The Copper & Lumber store stands out from the rest and suited our style; gorgeous harbour-front location where we watched the coming and going of the yachts; set right in the heart of the renovated historic dockyard. There are only 14 rooms and we rarely saw the other guests - we were also delighted to be upgraded for free to a suite for the second half of our stay. There were limited self-catering facilities where we could make simple breakfast and mix up our own cocktails. Nearby Pigeon beach (5 mins by car) is great for snorkelling and there are a dozen fun restaurants just a stroll away.
Room Tip: The suites have the best harbour views but are much more pricey.
