ARG TRANSFORMATION TO CARNIVAL CITY BEGINS Thursday 2nd July 2015
On July 1st, Antigua Recreation Grounds was officially handed over to commence the transformation into Carnival City.
Over the last few months, the Antigua Barbuda Festivals Commission (ABFC) conducted several walkthroughs of the venue to pinpoint high priority areas for renovation before the country’s biggest summer festival.
Chairman of the ABFC, Cliff Williams expressed that the erection of the stage would commence on July 2nd. He also highlighted that some of the areas up for renovation included the stands and restroom facilities.
Williams is ecstatic that the transformation has begun and will definitely look forward to the progress over the next few weeks.
With the Summer Festival being weeks away, he is adamant that the venue will be both ready, and suitable, to add a festive ambiance to the 59th celebration, and truly live up to the name “Carnival City”.
Antigua Carnival 2015 begins on Saturday, 25th July and ends on August 4th.
