WAVE GOODBYE TO CARNIVAL 2012 Wednesday 8th August 2012
Crowned kings and queens, satisfied revelers and all participators of Antigua Carnival, In Living Colour, can now wave goodbye to a successful 2012 Carnival celebration as last lap marked the end of the 11-day journey of blissful pride. But, before last lap, mas troupes, bands and other carnival participants paraded around St. Johns and made their way to the Recreation Grounds for judging and the announcement of the winners for the 2012 carnival celebration.
For the 12th consecutive year, Revelers mas troupe won the Band of the Year award for the large bands and also won the private band segment. The Burning Flames won road march accolades with their hit song “Kick Een She Back Doh” which was played 74 times on the road.
With their songs played 27 times, Tian Winter’s song, “Raving” and Ricardo Drue’s, “Superman” tied for first runner up. Followed by “I Baba” by Joel “Hard Knaxx” Lewis which was played 26 times.
Other big winners from yesterday’s festivities, include 2nd place winner, Beautiful People mas troupe, LIME Dynamics, Ali and Associates, Just Friends, and Joe Mikes. Click here for all News and Specials for Antigua Carnival
