QUEEN OF CARNIVAL VISITS GERMANY Monday 14th May 2012
Antigua and Barbuda Queen of Carnival, Latisha Greene has completed a visit to Germany, fulfilling one of her final duties as the 2011-2012 reigning Queen of Carnival.
Greene, along with other Antigua and Barbuda delegates, was in Germany to participate in Nic Ag’s 10th Anniversary celebrations in Frankfurt.
Nic AG operates the domain name registry for the Antigua & Barbuda, and is responsible for managing the .ag country code domain name.
Greene, attired in a national costume designed by Calvin S designs, brought an Antiguan atmosphere to the anniversary celebrations, which included a glamorous awards banquet.
The Queen of Carnival handed out awards to a number of accredited registrars at the ceremony hosted by Nic Ag for the German Registrars in appreciation of their continuous support.
Joining Greene at the event were Antigua and Barbuda’s Honorary Counsel to Germany, Dr. Werner Giersch, Nic.Ag representatives Dr. Patrick Lay and Sharon Henry and Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority’s UK Marketing Manager Cherrie Osborne. Greene’s chaperone, Sherry-Anne Peters also accompanied her to Germany.
While in Germany, the Queen of Carnival journeyed to the wine region of Kiedrich, for a reception hosted by the Deputy Mayor of Kiedrich and the Chairman of the Kiedrich Carnival Committee . She extended an invitation to the Mayor to visit Antigua and Barbuda and presented him with a copy of the coffee table book ‘Table Manners’ and an Antigua and Barbuda gift bag.
