The Fiennes Institute is on the receiving end of a gesture of outreach by a small group of employees of the National Parks Authority.
The employees came together near the end of a hectic yachting season in the Nelson’s Dockyard to form a group called People Helping People.
Together they felt that they could help to positively impact the lives of persons who are in need in the community and so decided that the Fiennes Institute would be a good place to start.
By soliciting the support of a number of private businesses and like minded citizens around the English Harbour community, they were able to collect a large number of items to include toiletries, canned foods, adult sanitary supplies and cleaning agents.
The donation was handed over to the Fiennes Institute on Wednesday, May 18th.
Member of the group Edward Browne expressed appreciation to everyone who readily responded to their appeal for assistance.
“We are happy that we could take time from our schedules to do something like this. Our intention is to continue giving because as we all know there are so many people out there that really need a helping hand,” Browne stated.
