A beautiful testimonial from a great couple, whose wedding was organized by Indigo in August. Ben and Portia wed on 16th August 2014, on the beach at Keyonna Beach & St. James's Club & Villas.

"My husband and I grew-up in the UK but met and live in Antigua. We wanted our wedding to be as stress-free, beautifully simplistic and fun as possible. So we decided to have a surprise wedding on the island we love so much, with just our parents and siblings present. When our families flew out for their annual holiday with us, we sent them off with a map on a treasure hunt, and 24 hours before the big day, they discovered our wedding invitation as a message in a bottle inside a buried treasure chest.

The plan came together perfectly and the day itself was breath-takingly magical.

What we discovered during the planning however was this; it is no small task to host a secret wedding.

We despaired as we spoke to wedding planners from local resorts who refused to think outside the usual destination wedding package. We did not want steel pans, giant flamboyant heart wreaths or outlandishly decorated gazebos. We weren't interested in a day lounging in the spa before our sunset ceremony. We had spent 2 weeks in England sourcing lanterns, dresses, fascinators, a page boy outfit, chair sashes and much much more, brought 5 suitcases across the world, ducked and dived family suspicions, envisioned the day in minute detail - we did not do all of this to have somebody tell us we could not have the wedding we had wanted just because, "that's not what we do."

"Forget it, we'll go it alone!" We thought. A night of Google searching on the legalities and formalities involved and the slow-dawning realisation that we didn't want to be putting up our own bamboo structure on the beach, nearly had us running to Vegas for a slapdash ceremony instead!

Tracy and her team went above and beyond what was required of them. From stashing wedding dresses and driftwood centre-pieces in her own home so our families didn't discover them in ours, to trawling from beach to beach with us to find the perfect spot, Tracy waved her magic wand and bit by bit our dream became a reality.

The day before the wedding our videographer said to me 'I'm talking from experience here, I've seen hundreds of weddings, only 75% of what you have planned will actually happen tomorrow. Be prepared for that and you will still enjoy the day.'

Well I can say hand on heart that indigo ensured that 125% of what we planned, happened. The finishing touches and attention to detail added by Tracy's creative eye, meant that we had the wedding day that went beyond what we had ever even imagined. We spent the day grinning and soaking in every single second as each idyllic moment unfolded to rival the last.

We didn't have a single worry or stress on the biggest day of our lives. And that was thanks to Indigo event services. We really can't thank Tracy and the team enough.
