WEST COAST - ANTIGUA’S QUIETER AND UNDERRATED COASTLINE
Property on the west coast of Antigua is often underrated and, therefore, better value for money than, say, English Harbour/Falmouth.
The west coast does have some advantages in that it tends to be quieter, benefits from the calm, clear blue and generally shallower waters of the Caribbean Sea and has some of the best beaches on the island. If visiting by sea, it has many good and sheltered anchorages.
Another advantage is the convenience of nearby Jolly Harbour with its international supermarket, shops, ATMs, bars, restaurants and golf course. It is also a convenient place to moor a boat. Additionally, there are a number of popular, beach front restaurants off the coast road which snakes its way between the hills and the shore line.
Also nearby is Antigua’s rainforest which contains a number of attractions including a wild zipline ride and assault course, English tea rooms and the Georgian Wallings dam, a great picnic area.
Often overlooked, there are quite a few properties for sale plus the occasional building plot in Valley Church, Darkwood Beach and the Ffryes area with plusher villas available at Sugar Ridge.
Whether as an investment or holiday home, the west coast can offer property and locations different from other parts of the island.
