ESTATE AGENTS, AUCTIONEERS, SURVEYORS & VALUERS
Duffy & Company was established as estate agents, auctioneers, surveyors, and valuers in the U.K. in 1973 and still trades today in Sussex but John Duffy also owned or participated in other companies such as newspaper and magazine publishing, computer software and firmware companies, employment agency, and property investment and development.
Additionally, he served on the Boards of numerous voluntary organisations including as chairman of his regional Chamber of Commerce and Commodore of the Brighton Marine Yacht Club.
Originally coming to Antigua for sailing, successfully competing for his yacht in Antigua Sailing Week, John Duffy together with his wife Lindsay, moved to Antigua in 2005.
PART OF THE COMMUNITY
Rapidly becoming involved with the local community, John Duffy was elected President of the Antigua & Barbuda Marine Association in 2006 transiting to the presidency of the Caribbean Marine Association. He also served for periods on the Boards of the Antigua Yacht Club including being Commodore for one year, the Boards of the National Sailing Academy, Antigua Sailing Week, and PR & Legal Officer to the Royal Naval Tot Club of Antigua & Barbuda. In 2015 John Duffy brought the North American Optimist Dinghy Championships to Antigua, an event which returned twice more.
As well as still serving the Caribbean Marine Association, John Duffy is a Director of the Royal Commonwealth Society of Antigua & Barbuda, Chairman of the British Caribbean Pensioners Association and the International Consortium of British Pensioners.
Initially running a publishing company in Antigua but taking an interest again in estate agency in 2015 when he was invited to expand an existing, largely commercial, estate agents into the residential market, which was successfully done.
DUFFY & COMPANY - ESTABLISHMENT AND SERVICE
Deciding to become independent in 2021, John Duffy MRICS - Chartered Surveyor, established Duffy & Company in Antigua, almost 48 years to the day from when he set up Duffy & Company in the U.K.. The business is based in English Harbour and Falmouth but will serve the whole of Antigua and, where appropriate, other Caribbean islands.
Duffy & Company deals with residential and commercial property, building plots, and land. We also offer long-term rentals.
John Duffy has over 40 years of experience in the property business both in the U.K. and in Antigua. Duffy & Company offers a service which is above and beyond the normal laid-back Caribbean style, pleasant though this style is, it sometimes does not fit well with efficiency and good service. We virtually never close and are generally available from 0600 to 2100 seven days a week.
