THE BEST PARTY BAND IN ANTIGUA
Versatility is the watch word for this fun loving band who can deliver everything from a laid back smoky jazz set for an intimate wedding or party on board a yacht to rocking a crowd of 3000 people during some of Antigua’s biggest parties, such as Antigua Sailing Week.
From old soul ballads, to reggae, dance hall, soca, pop and rock n’roll, the band deliver a high energy engaging set which supercharges the audience.
In planning your event they have the flexibility to learn new tracks as well as focussing on specific genres if that is what you need.
They are a well sought after band in Antigua and have received great reviews:
From Alison Sly-Adams, Commercial Director of Antigua Sailing Week: ‘17 61º were selected as the band who played at the Antigua Sailing Week 2018 Final Awards Party. The crowds adore them because not only are they great at what they do, their energy translates so well in a big space such as Nelson’s Dockyard where the party is held. I have not hesitation in recommending them to other regattas and parties of a similar scale around the region’.
From bride and groom Noelle & Mike who were married in a private villa at Jumby Bay, ‘The Band were amazing, everything was made so easy for me and it was a wonderful and unforgettable night for Mike & I.’
Regular nights around the island include:
Monday - Al Portos, Jolly Harbour
Tuesday - Galley Bay Hotel, Five Islands
Thursday - Curtain Bluff Hotel, Cades Bay
Friday - Life on the Corner, English Harbour
The founder of the band is drummer Mark Smith who in 2011 wanted to create a professional function and party band with the highest quality musicians able to perform across the Caribbean Region and further afield and have fun doing so. Mark has been playing drums for 26 years and was a professional musician for 10 years in London. He worked as a session drummer and was also signed to East West Records. He fulfilled his all time ambition of playing on Top of the Pops!
A versatile band, the width of music the band plays means they can deliver a set to suit any occasion including a fully professional artist support band for tours or events.
The name of the band 17 61º refers to the latitude and longtitude of Antigua & Barbuda and the logo colours are inspired by the National Flag Colours.
Mark also owns his own IT Company called ICE Limited.
Contact them to discuss what you need and they will ensure that you get exactly the style of music and sound that you want for your event.
