ADMIRAL'S INN - PILLARS RESTAURANT

Nelson's Dockyard in English Harbour is a beautiful area rich with history, and a must see location on any trip to Antigua--especially if you are interested in the island's Naval History. As you tour through the Dockyard there are many buildings reminiscent of an era gone by, and each building had a special purpose in the maitenance and preservation of boats/ships or the harbour itself.

Perhaps the most iconic location is the quaint Admiral's Inn, the once tar-and-pitch-store-turned-boutique-hotel, that was said to be the favored drinking spot of Horatio Nelson himself, the man who gave Nelson's Dockyard its name. In the Caribbean Journal, an excerpt from the "Rum Journal" describes the Inn as "one of those rare places in the Caribbean where multiple centuries flow through the bricks and the walls".
