Our mission is to offer a world-class education that will enable our diverse community of students to function successfully, both academically and socially, in the global community.
SCHOOL PROFILE
With over 270 learners from Kindergarten to grade 13, we are proud to be one of the few institutions in the Caribbean that offers both a regional and global education, including the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
We offer a full host of CXC and IB classes. All coursework is designed with the hope of building strong leaders, whether they are in Antigua & Barbuda or overseas. We currently have students enrolled in major universities, professions and graduate degree programs across the globe.
The school has grown rapidly since its inception over a decade ago. We have a modern purpose-built campus, ideally situated in the middle of the island, a curriculum that is both wide and deep. We are fortunate enough to have internationally trained, specialist teachers each delivering high quality lessons at all grade levels in our well-resourced classrooms. Our athletics field, inaugurated this October, will give our students access to a wide range of sporting opportunities led by our expert PE staff. We offer many different types of field trips, from a class trip to Washington DC or Spain for our IBDP students. Our after-hours programmes include tutoring, music, sports, and arts and crafts.
Island Academy is a vibrant and exciting community, filled with professional staff and talented pupils who want to do well. However, there is nothing like seeing for yourself, so please come and visit us—perhaps on a Friday morning for our open assembly, the annual Fun Fair or, one of several events organized by our Parent Association.
