MSJMC DONATES TO BREAST FRIENDS Wednesday 12th November 2014
Recently Mount St. John’s Medical Centre (MSJMC) announced a donation of $7266.25 to Breast Friends in support of the organization’s mission to provide help and inspire hope to those affected by breast cancer. The funds raised were from MSJMC’s annual pink PARTY.
“This year the response was overwhelming. It’s the biggest pink PARTY we've ever hosted -- surpassing even our own expectations and we could not be happier with the outcome,” said Salma Crump, Head of Marketing & Communications at MSJMC. “This recent donation makes over $14,000 MSJMC has raised over the past four years and we plan to increase that number next year.
“What sets Breast Friends apart is not only its drive to help women now, but also its commitment to education and providing hope to women and families that they can have fulfilling lives during and following their treatment. MSJMC’s donation is an effort to show our admiration of the organization’s dedication to educating, equipping and emboldening women.”
MSJMC has been partnering with Breast Friends since 2009 when the facility opened. Their first pink PARTY fundraiser and awareness event was hosted in October 2011.
“Each year the organizers at Mount St. John’s put their heart and soul into this event and we’re so grateful to them,” said Eunetta Bird, President of Breast Friends. “We are grateful that they continue to partner with Breast Friends in an effort to raise funds and awareness. This generous donation will help us in continuing to help women and families across Antigua & Barbuda.”
Breast Friends relies on private donations to keep their programs going. You can support them by becoming a donor.
If you or the organization you represent is interested in being a part of this annual event please call (268) 484-2711 or send an email to info@msjmc.org. Your help is needed to continue bringing words of hope and encouragement to the women who will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year.
