THE BEST OF BOOKS & MADE IN ANTIGUA

Long awaited copies of two recently published children’s books by two well known Antiguan and Barbudan authors are finally on island.

This has been confirmed by manager of Best of Books, Barbara Arrindell who is also the author of one the books.

Arrindell’s book Turtle Beach along with a book called The Jungle Outside by award winning writer Joanne C. Hillhouse were both released in the United Kingdom by Harper Collins on January 7th,2021.  The books will become available in Canada on April 13th and the USA on June 1.

According to the bookstore manager she had hoped to have the books on island at least two weeks ago but shipping delays and a host of other challenges delayed the arrival of the books.

In addition to being written by a daughter of the soil, the illustrator of Turtle Beach, Zavian Archibald, is also from Antigua and Barbuda.

There will be no formal in person launch at this time for obvious reasons but it is hoped that educators and parents will take time to consider the possibility of utilizing them in and outside of the classroom.
