Saturday, December, 05, 2009 – St. John’s, Antigua: Students from the Antigua State College, the Antigua Girls High School and the Mary E. Piggott School were just some of the visitors to the upstairs gallery of the Museum of Antigua and Barbuda, where they viewed the 26 images of the ‘Colour & Movement – Images Past and Present’ collection presented by Alvin Kofi Ferris.
Kofi is very happy with the public’s response to his first exhibition in Antigua: “The images have been very well received by the public and the feedback has been positive.
There have been many highlights during my stay here; however, one really stands out. I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting and working with young people and being able to share with them my knowledge of the arts. Their enthusiasm; there is a thirst, a desire to increase their understanding of the arts. This is great as it shows how important it will be to harness this energy and nurture it.”
He also had an opportunity to meet with fellow artists including Mark Brown and Heather Doram, as well as the Minister with Responsibility for Culture, the Hon. Eleston Adams and H.E. Chen Ligang, Ambassador People’s Republic of China to Antigua and Barbuda.

Kofi returns to the UK to prepare for a series of practical workshops for artists looking at the fundamentals of selling art from sourcing materials to printing and publishing and the marketing of art.
