The late founder, Howard Hulford, discovered the 20-acre site while working as a private pilot. Initially planning to build a house, he was advised to construct a hotel to boost tourism. Curtain Bluff opened in 1962, and Howard and his wife, Chelle, dedicated their lives to making it a welcoming retreat. This spirit of hospitality continues today.
