NEW CREATIONS
New Creations is a recently incorporated Non-Profit Organization which is dedicated to organizing initiatives which spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to help to restore broken lives and make them brand new.
The recent infraction at the Ottos Comprehensive School on 4th November 2011 highlighted the number of issues being faced by the Government High Schools of Antigua and Barbuda such as sexual gatherings, student-teacher-combat, uncontrollable anger, and pupils using satanic messages to retaliate against authoritative figures. This new Organization is reaching out to the young people to help to address these issues.
STAND OUT INITIATIVE
New Creations created the Stand Out Initiative which is designed to encourage young people to pursue Godliness, excellence in school and to become community players. The Organization has received the support of the Ministry of Education as they also see its importance in changing the mindset of youth today.
The Initiative began in January 2012 with a “Stand Out” School Tour of seven (7) of the Government High Schools from Wednesday 11th January, 2012 to Monday 16th January, 2012. The Tour provided the students with a positive and transformative message presented by Mrs. Carrol Richards, a missionary who currently serves as the Director of the Campus Ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ in Jamaica.
The Initiative will continue with a school challenge in February 2012. This challenge encourages the youth to submit to authority, to pursue excellence, to exhibit a Godly attitude to their fellow students, and to abstain from acts of a sexual nature. Also, the initiative will provide the students with an opportunity to create an outreach project of their choice to meet a need in their school or the community the school is situated in.
In March, New Creations will launch its final chapter of the “Stand Out” Initiative through a Music Concert featuring International Gospel Artists such as Da’ T.R.UT.H., The Ambassador, Sean Simmonds, powerful spoken-word artist Oraia, Regional Reggae Artist Sherwin Gardner, Hip Hop group Christ Family from Antigua and a special performance by Abbi-K from New York.
The proceeds of the concert will go towards making donations to the Sunshine Home for Girls, the Good Shepherd Home, the Boys Training School and the Inter-School College and Christian Fellowship (ISCCF).
STAND CAMPAIGN
New Creations is mindful of the African adage which says that “it takes a village to raise a child” and in that regard it has launched the “Stand” campaign. Through this campaign it is seeking to invite individuals, various organizations and churches to “Stand” with them in prayer and by providing financial support as they seek to use the “Stand Out” Initiative to tackle the problems highlighted in the schools, so that a generation of our young people can be restored for the benefit of society.
