Tripadvisor.com allows guests to review where they stayed, dined and what they did on vacation. These are often detailed reviews that will prove to be insightful to the business, helping them to improve their facilities and services for future guest when they stay with them, or when they dine. Take a look below at this excellent review of Verandah Resort & Spa.
“Beautiful resort, well worth a visit!” Reviewed August 27, 2012
“I have just returned from a 10 night stay at the verandah resort with my parents and sister and all 4 of us can honestly say it was one of the best holidays we have ever had. My mum read numerous reviews of the resort on this website and was worried sick about various aspects which had previously been complained about (eg. unclean beach, size of resort, unfriendly staff). However, all of these were completely unfounded, the beaches being spotless, constant golf buggies for people staying further away from the main amenities and the staff being attentive and very friendly!! Do not read any of the bad reviews - they are completely wrong!!
We were greeted with a rum punch or fruit punch on arrival and quick and easy check in, with quick portering via golf buggy to your room.
We shared a waterfront view room which was spotlessly clean from the moment we entered. Both the main room and bathroom were spacious and very well presented, with plenty of room for 3 adults and a 12 year old. Although we had the basic view, all the villas have good views of the sea and are fabulous!
There are 2 beaches, the watersports beach and the rasta beach, with the rasta beach being slightly quieter. We made great friends with a couple getting married and they chose the rasta beach, overlooking the sea. It was the most beautiful wedding I have ever been to! The waterfront beach has fab activities such as pedalos, kayaks and hobbie cats which you can constantly hire for free as the resort is all inclusive. The watersports guys are friendly and helpful and Olsen will give you lessons on the hobbie cat so you can take it out on your own.
Within the all inclusive you have buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner in the sea breeze restaurant, with waitress service lunch and dinner in the beach bar and grill or buccaneers or exquisite dining in Nicole's for $30 per person for special occasion. All the food was delicious and fresh with the service being fantastic, drinks constantly refilled without asking and friendly and helpful staff. The drinks were amazing with a large range of cocktails and crushes and branded drinks such as southern comfort and jack Daniels being included!! It was the best all inclusive I have ever experienced.
The pool was always clean, with a non slip surface (which others have described as rough but I can only see as being a safety feature!) and towels readily available. Although we went in low season, we were told that the resort was to capacity but you would never have known! There were always plenty of sun beds both around the pool and on the beaches and you never felt like anywhere was crowded.
The evening entertainment was mainly by a reggae group who were fantastic with the lead singer having a fantastic voice singing well known songs with a twist of the carribean. There is a steel band on a Tuesday which is definitely worth seeing.
The only let down that we felt about the resort were some of the other customers who were sometimes quite rude to the staff!! We feel that maybe some of the bad reviews were from these rude customers but who knows!
Overall our holiday was wonderful, with none of us wanting to return home. We were lucky enough to make some life long friends and have a really fab time!! I would definitely recommend the verandah to anyone wanting a relaxing and fun holiday.”
