The American University of Antigua (AUA) Rohrman is excited to announce the launch of Antigua & Barbuda’s first-ever Trail & Swim Fest, scheduled for April 19-20, 2025. This historic event will be a highlight in the island’s sports calendar, featuring a combination of thrilling trail challenges, open water swim competitions and triathlons, welcoming participants of all ages and abilities. With a rich history and a growing international reputation, the AUA Rohrman continues to be a premier event for adventure athletes across the globe.
AUA Rohrman: A Legacy of Endurance and Adventure
Entering its 11th year, the AUA Rohrman event began in 2012 as a half ironman triathlon, an endurance race combining swimming, cycling, and running. Over the years, it has evolved into a full-fledged festival, now incorporating a variety of races and challenges across different disciplines. What started as a single triathlon has grown into a multi-event extravaganza, reflecting Rohrman’s commitment to pushing boundaries and providing unparalleled experiences for athletes of all kinds.
Since its inception, the AUA Rohrman has attracted some of the world’s best athletes. Notable past winners include Andrea Hewitt, a three-time Olympian with three top-10 finishes at three Olympic Games and a regular contender in the World Triathlon Series. Hewitt’s strength in the sport has earned her a reputation as one of the most consistent and competitive triathletes globally. Another star athlete to claim victory at Rohrman is Benjamin Sanson, who won the inaugural event in 2012 and has been an integral figure in the event's growth, serving as race director and competitor. Sanson, a former elite French triathlete, has had a successful international career, excelling in both short and long-distance triathlons.

Building on its rich history, the 2025 Trail & Swim Fest promises to deliver a challenging yet beautiful race experience. Athletes will take on some of the most picturesque trails Antigua has to offer, with routes passing through stunning locations such as Winter Hill, Fisher Hill, Rendezvous Bay, Cherry Hill, Sugar Loaf, Signal Hill, Wallings, Farley Bay, Mt Carmel, Tucks Point, and Cade Peak.
