Captain of the CKHS Girls’ Senior Basketball team, Trisha Ghanie of the Wings Sports Club, led her team for an 8–5 win over Pares Secondary on Thursday afternoon at the YMCA.
It was the team’s first match-up in the Inter-schools’ Basketball league.
Ghanie, playing more confidently this year, stamped early authority in the game driving strongly to the hoop.
Other Wings team mates, Kayanna Alexander, Michelene Zouetr, Robin Richards and Ryann Ferrance gave added support by keeping out the Pares Secondary, known better for their netball style of play, with a zone defence.
CKHS next scheduled game is on February 7, against AGHS.
