Twenty-two young athletes will represent Antigua/Barbuda at the Caribbean Union of Teachers (CUT) Track & Field Championship in Jamaica, July 20 & 21, 2012.
The Caribbean Union of Teachers Track & Field Championship was as a result of CUT’s recognition of the need to provide the young athletes ages 8 –15 years with some regional competition.The Event was first organized in Barbados in 1986. The success of the Meet led to a CUT decision to host the Championship every 2 years.
As an affiliate union, the A & B Union of Teachers will be sending 22 athletes and 6 officials for the Meet. The athletes include: Joella Lloyd, Nia Coates and Quivern Adams (SJCPS); Alexis Nicholas and Sheldon Noble (Potters Primary); Christopher Alexander (Villa Pri-mary); Xavona Browne (Pigotts Primary); Sunai Benjamin (Seventh Day Adventist); Razim Richards (Barbuda); Raphael McCoy, Allakai Samuel and Taniqua Matthew (Five Islands Pri-mary);Kiwande Morson, Kyle Browne and Peter Emanuel (Clarehall Sec.); Jermae Williams (PMS); Delanja Drew (Mary E. Pigott); Coull Graham (SJA); Kary May (ASSS); Reniqua Davis (Foundation Mixed); Bliss Soleyn (CKHS); Zody Roberts (Wesleyan);
The Officials are: Annetta Alexan-der, Paulette Henry and Gwendo-lyn Willock (Chaperones); the Coaches include, Heather Samuel, Jamil Nelson and Peter Cuffy.
