Former USA Peace Corp Volunteer, Mike Rodriguez of Chicago, Illinois, is once again in Antigua.
However, this time, the versatile sportsman is on a two week vacation. “I have such good memories of Antigua, and made so many friends and contacts, that I just had to return. Antigua is like my second home,” says Rodriguez. As a Peace Corp Volunteer from 2007— 2009, Rodriguez worked with the Gilbert’s Agricultural & Rural Development Centre in Business and ICT development. In his spare time, Rodriguez participated in football, playing for the Seatons/Glanville FC and at times helped with the coaching. He also did a few coaching stints with the 5P’s FC. “I went back to see some of the guys in Seatons, and they are not doing too well in the FA League, at the moment. I wish I could help them,” said Rodriguez.
Besides football, Rodriguez was and still is an ardent lover of distance running, swimming and cycling and has participated in triathlon and other Meets put on by the Lena Ibrahim tries to defend against two players various Antiguan Associations.
