Sports Ministry says Congrats as Walsh captures Gold at Commonwealth Youth
Tahir Walsh redeemed himself to capture the gold medal in the men’s 100metres, on Friday, August 9th, at the IV Commonwealth Youth Games at the National Sports Center in the Isle of Man.
The undaunted youth of the 2011 Carifta Games, who had previously captured bronze in 2010, showed guts and determination after much training, to gain a spot on the six member Commonwealth team.
Walsh clocked a time of 10.50 in the finals, after running 10.60 in the heats and 10.51 in the semi-finals.
Walsh’s compatriot, Jared Jarvis made it to the Semi-finals, clocking 10.92 with a previous heat of 10.95. Continue to read here.
