SUMMER 2015 ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS

SUMMERTIME AND THE LIVING IS EASY?

Not if school’s out and you are a child bored at home. With the summer break here, you’re probably looking for ideas to keep the children active and interested (and quite possibly even tired out). To help you out, we scoured the island for information on summer camps and courses, and as a result, this list was made.

SUMMER SPLASH SWIM CAMP
Location: Antigua Athletic Club
Duration:  Week 1: July 13—17 and Week 2: July 20th—24 from 8:30 am -12:00 pm daily
Ages: 4 - 16 yrs
Cost: EC$200 /1 week and EC$380 /2 weeks with family discounts available and lunch included

Registration: Saturdays, 4 July and July 11 at the Athletic Club from 3:00 - 4:30pm.

CAMP GIRL TALK
Location: Antigua Girls' High School
Duration:  July 6 – July 17 
Times: 8:30am - 1:30pm
Ages: Girls 10 – 17 yrs
Cost: Registration is EC$25 and the Camp fee is EC$300

Comments: Girls will learn health and lifestyle lessons, including their rights as girls, beauty/grooming tips, health/hygiene, and gender-based violence awareness. The camp will merge these lessons with art and drama to teach the girls safe, healthy and creative ways to express themselves. See camp flyer here.

iLAB GlOBAL'S COMPUTATIONAL THINKING LABORATORY (SUMMER TECHNOLOGY CLUB)
Duration:  July 13 - July 24 (2 Solid Weeks/30 hrs)
Location: Princess Margaret Secondary School
Times: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm or 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Ages: 11 - 22 yrs
Cost: $325 (a two week program)

Comments: This summer develop your problem solving skills and learn to think computationally with iLabGlobal's Computational Thinking Laboratory. Create games and APPS as well as learn to code. SUMMER SAILING CAMPS
Location: National Sailing Academy, Dockyard Drive
Duration: Mondays – Fridays for the weeks of June 22-29, July 6-27 and August 10-24
Times: 9:30 am – 2:30 pm
Ages: 8 - 18 years
Cost: EC$50 per day

Comments: Beach games, sailing games, excursions, hiking and more. Kids will need towels, sunscreen, lunch, drinks and gear for certain activities; see camp flyer here.

SWALINGS SUMMER PLAYLIST
Location: Drop off and Pick up at Swalings new location in Marble Hill
Duration: June 29 - August 28
Times: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Ages: 2-12 years old

Comments: Activities such as Hikes, field trips, football madness, Wet N Wild and lots more. *Sign up for 3 weeks and get the 3rd week half price. Sign up for 4 weeks and get the 4th free.

SWALINGS FOOTBALL CAMP
Location: Drop off and Pick up at Swalings new location in Marble Hill
Duration: July 13 – July 17 & August 17 – August 21
Times: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Ages: 5-18 years old

Comments: Camp promises to teach the children all formats of the beautiful game, whilst working on the basics, passing, control, heading, shooting, defending attacking and goal keeping.

CAMP GROW 2015
Location: GARD Center, Mercers Creek
Duration: August 10 - August 21
Times: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Ages: 8 - 11 years
Cost: EC$220

Comments: Kids t-shirt is included in the package and scholarships are also available. Please indicate on the registration form whether you will be applying for the scholarship. Lunch can be provided for an additional EC$10 per day.

TENNIS CAMP
Location: Halcyon by Rex Resorts
Duration: July 6th - July 31st
Times: 9:00 am -1:00 pm / 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Ages: 4 -11 /12 -15 years
Cost: EC$100 per week

Location: Antigua Yacht Club
Age: 8 - 18 yrs
Duration: Session 1: July 27—31 and August 10-14
Times: 9:30 am – 12:00 pm
Cost: EC$180 per week
