WADADLI YOUTH PEN PRIZE CHALLENGE
Friday 19th January 2018

Write a story or poem, 600 words or fewer and submit by February 28th, 2018 to: wadadlipen@gmail.com. Open to Antiguan & Barbudans ages 35 and under.

View the submission form and more info here.

The 2018 Challenge season, it’s a pared down Challenge – a specific flash fiction challenge (a work of experimental Caribbean historical fiction, emphasis on the experimental; so points for not hitting with clichés), a single round of judging (so send your cleanest edit as there’ll be no opportunity to improve it); a single winner takes all (as opposed to winner breakdown by age categories).

This project has created a space for young Antiguans and Barbudans to express themselves, and some who have passed through the Wadadli Pen writing challenge, the longest and most consistent project, have gone on to work in media or public relations; to publish short stories, poems, or even books. While Wadadli Pen does not take credit for any of this, they were a stop on the journey.
