With the ultimate location in Caribbean Beach Bar, Calabash blends casual dining perfectly with the opportunity to jump straight into the ocean. This superb bar and restaurant can be found beach side at Galleon Beach Resort, Freeman’s Bay.
With an emphasis on freshly prepared food daily, the menu reflects what is fresh and available although there are some favorites you will always find such as a fresh baked quiche, Caesar salad (with an unbelievable dressing), fish cakes and a phenomenal burger (I challenge you to try and visit the next time and NOT order the burger again!). Along with Paté, sandwiches, pasta, steaks and fish there is an excellent choice of dishes for all the family.
Talking of which, if you have kids, this is the perfect all day hangout for the family. The grown up’s get to chill out over cold beers or bottle of rosé while the kids run around on the beach with their friends.
Chefs Carey and Dean have years of experience preparing foods everywhere from yachts to homes of the rich and famous. Carey is an ex-Cordon Bleu teacher from Europe. Their combined experience also means that they can organize and deliver superb parties and one off events.
As well as the beachside deck which seats 64 people, the indoor restaurant can seat a further 100 people. This makes it a great option for private functions - family reunions, weddings parties and events. The team can work with you on budgets ensuring that your perfect event is affordable and suits your needs. The indoor restaurant also means that in the event of rain, diners on the deck can be moved indoors.
The kitchen is open Tuesday – Sunday 12:00pm to 3:00pm with drinks being served later. It is in fact a fantastic place from which to enjoy sundowners, the famous green flash and views of Montserrat as well as multimillion dollar yachts entering and leaving historic English Harbour.
