DINING & NIGHTLIFE

Trivia Night continues at Putters Bar & Grill each Thursday evening starting from 8:30 pm, where you can gather your friends to test your general knowledge for a shot at great prizes. Bring the kids and let them play on the children’s playground and have dinner early from their fantastic menu.

Mad Mongoose kicks off another season on Monday 23rd, reopening their doors from 4:00 pm onward. They will open from Friday through Tuesday for now, opening each day at 4:00 pm with Grill and Bar Foods and serving dinner from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm.

Have a cocktail along with some nibbles at Carmichael’s as you watch the sun set at one of the best vantage points, open from 3:00 pm onward each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Dinner service starts at 6:00 pm and if you arrive before 7:00 pm, you can enjoy a complimentary sunset cocktail during the month of September.

Grab a casual meal or pick up dinner from Chippy’s Antigua, open each Wednesday and Friday from 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm, serving up traditional fish and chips, homemade pies, lobster, scampi, curries and more. Look out for their red van nearby Dickenson Bay and relax under the stars with a cold drink and a tasty meal.

Cloggy’s Café is now open for dinner, serving lunch and dinner Wednesday through Saturday with Sunday Brunch each week as well. Their daily happy hour continues from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, offering cocktails and beer for EC$6 and complimentary bar snacks.

The Blu Pineapple Restaurant and Bar introduces their new Chef Nigel Joseph, who brings a fantastic background of experience and talent, along with a new menu with delectable dishes. Be sure to try out a meal from their new chef, and take advantage of one of their special nights on offer; Blu Wednesdays, Friday Date Night and Sunday Pizza Party.

SPORT FISHING TOURNAMENT LAUNCH PARTY

This Saturday is the launch party for the 6th Annual Francis Nunes Jr Memorial Fishing Tournament and Seafood Festival, taking place at The Tides Restaurant from 8:00 pm onward. Tickets for the party are EC$100 and cover all inclusive drinks from the premium bars available that evening. There will be food on sale as well, and DJ Tanny Rose will be on the decks all night keeping your feet moving and the dance floor alive. No tickets will be available at the door so pick up early from Stephen B Shoul, Automotive Art, Ezone Antigua, Putters Bar & Grill, Elegant Steps, Dees Service Station and Big Deal.

SPORT SHORTS

This Sunday is the AUA Rohr Tinman Triathlon, featuring swimming, cycling and running to test top athletes from Antigua and around the world. Come out to support the athletes as they pace themselves through a tough challenge, and see who comes out on top.

COMMUNITY

Auditions continue for the Antigua’s Youth Got Talent Competition, with Day 2 set for Friday and Day 3 on Saturday. Auditions take place at the Cultural Development Division between 1:00 m and 3:00 pm each day.

Saturday is International Coastal Cleanup Day and you can join the Environmental Awareness Group as they head to Fanny Cove, near Devil’s Bridge, to clean up land and marine waste that has collected there. There is no need to join a group to do your part; simply head out to a spot on the coast that you know needs a good cleanup, and pick up rubbish as best you can.

The Department of Youth Affairs is seeking exhibitors for their Annual Youth Exhibition, inviting persons 35 years and under to showcase their creative talents, skills, products and services at the exhibit on October 3rd.

Art at the Ridge calls for entrants for the 2013 Children's Christmas Card Competition, open to kids aged 7 - 19 years in Antigua. Get the art started as the deadline for entries is on Thursday October 31st!

Art at the Ridge is also hosting a September Art Sale, with items from Lyris Tracey at a 10% discount along with specials on selected pieces by their artist-in-residence Jane Seagull.
