CARNIVAL COUNTDOWN - 1 WEEK TO GO
Wednesday 17th July 2013

We are just over a week away from the big day we have all been waiting for – the Opening of Carnival 2013. Get yourself prepped at the weekly Myst Carnival events, including their Thursday Games Night, Friday Swine & Wine and Soca Saturdays. Be sure to sign up for T-Shirt Mas with Myst Carnival for the Opening Parade on July 27th and jam for a good cause as they team up with Why Me? Cancer Society, donating EC$5 for each package purchased to the charity. T-Shirts will be orange this year to represent Kidney Cancer so sign up quickly to secure your spot jumping up with Myst Carnival for the Opening Parade this year.

Power Rumble is just the event to get you prepared for Carnival, featuring local and regional acts like Destra, Iwer George, Claudette Peters, Tian Winter, Tizzy and many more on stage throughout the night. It’s going down this Friday at the Police Recreation Grounds and tickets are EC$30 from Ken’s Club, CTV, Evolution and APUA Outlets.

On Saturday, The Rotary Club of Antigua presents Colors in Vegas at Splash Antigua, the all-inclusive event that treats every patron like a VIP, with Vegas themed food and Premium drinks all night, live music by Denise Plummer and Ricardo Drue, alongside DJ Nez. The Fete will help fund Rotary Charity projects like Meals on Wheels, Computers for school and a new ultra-sound machine for Mount Saint John’s Medical Centre. You can also be the lucky winner of a Yamaha Motorcycle and other prizes with their Roulette game at the event.

Watch as Calypso Monarch Semi-Finalists compete for a spot on the finals stage this Sunday at the Semi-Final Competition, taking place at Millers by the Sea with an EC$20 cover charge. Check out the finalists selected for the Party Monarch Competition, taking place on Saturday August 3rd.

In just over a week we will be in the middle of Antigua Carnival 2013, watching Children’s Carnival, Junior Calypso, Queen of Carnival, Teen Splash and more. Check out the full schedule of events here.

Save up to 70% at Columbian Emeralds International during their Carnival Sale, with huge discounts throughout the store on stunning pieces of jewellery.
