THIRD ANNUAL INTER CLUBS CHALLENGE RESULTS
Tuesday 27th January 2015

The Third Annual Inter Clubs Challenge has concluded.

Sailing conditions for both race days were absolutely perfect!

Day 1 saw six races with Windward to Leeward mark race courses, and all six of the MRYC Rhodes 19 boats were in the fleet.

Day 2 featured one long distance race - Green Island, into Emerald Cove, down to the bottom of Ayers Creek, up to Green Island, down to Harmony Hall; then back up to Green Island, and to the finish line.

For the 3rd consecutive year, Mill Reef Yacht Club (MRYC) skippered by Olympic gold medalist, Poul Hoj-Jensen, and crew, Sam Jones and Stuart

Finnerty, took the championship; this year with a score of 6 points.

Royal Ocean Racing Club came in 2nd place with a score of 15 points.

And Antigua Yacht Club (AYC) placed 3rd with a score of 16 points.

There was excellent camraraderie amongst the yacht club crews. In total, 18 sailors participated from the following yacht clubs:

MRYC - Poul Hoj-Jensen, Sam Jones, and Stuart Finnerty
AYC - Geoffrey Pidduck, Ian Fraser, and Patmore Watson
RORC - Mark & Lewis Fitzgerald and Sandra Larson.
Harmony Hall Yacht Club (HHYC) - Hans & Kathy Lammers, Paul Jackson,
and Marguerite Jackson (relief crew)
Jolly Harbour Yacht Club (JHYC) - Terry Allan, Peter Starr, and Renate der Beet
National Sailing Academy (NSA) - Stefan Dundas, Sachin Smith, and Shawn Malone

A very special thank you is extended to the following persons: Clare Cupples, Anne Morcome, Carole Hulks, and Sophia Hoj-Jensen, our fantastic Race Committee members. Steve Spanis, Martin Merrit, Elizabeth Jordan, KC Claufen, our ever willing volunteers. Ossie, Julio, Dave, Mary, and Rahman, the best marina staff any yacht club could hope for.

We must also mention all the MRC Staff who rallied together to get the job done. And thank you once again to Sophia for organizing the event and ensuring that everything ran smoothly from beginning to end.

We look forward to seeing you at next year's Inter Clubs Challenge!
