TIGER TYSON AT THE KITEBOARD WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Friday 18th May 2018

Antigua’s Tiger Tyson recently competed in the 2018 TT:R Youth World Championships in Asia Bay, China, in his efforts toward the 2018 Youth Olympics in Argentina in October. While Tiger has already secured his spot at the Youth Olympics through various qualifying competitions, international events like these are important training competitions against the world’s best, some of whom he will compete against in the Youth Olympics.

However, an unfortunate injury to his shin and knee after the 3rd day of the event where he was in 4th place, put an end to Tiger’s campaign in this competition. Having already secured his place at the Youth Olympics, it’s not a big deal for Tiger, however his World Ranking, previously #1 in Under19 Boys worldwide, has dropped to 4th, though still impressive.

Tiger is back in Antigua and recovering well and has been invited to train with a number of international teams due to his competition success, including China, Dominican Republic, Croatia, Argentina, and USA. We’re hoping for a speedy recovery for Tiger and a successful return to competition soon. Stay tuned!
