TIGER TYSON 2ND IN THE WORLD AFTER YOUTH WORLDSMonday 4th December 2017
Tiger Tyson, representing Antigua and Barbuda, is at 2nd in the world after being bumped from the number 1 spot by his training partner and good friend, Cameron Maramenides, who won this TT:R Youth World Championship in Brazil. 2nd in the world in his age group is still seriously impressive!

Tiger landed 6th place in Brazil for the 2017 TT:R Slalom Youth World Championships over 26th November – 1st December. Unfortunate collisions by fellow competitors causing Tiger to have to abandon race, and penalty points, knocked Tiger down a few spots. Still, it was an incredible performance by Tiger keeping the Antigua & Barbuda flag in the top 10. Well done Tiger! Check out the official wrap up here.
From Michael Tyson:
“Well after all the drama and tangles and collisions and breakages with racing in 30 to 40 knots of wind all week Tigers training partner and buddy Cameron, who Tiger beat in China in the Open Worlds, has won the Youth Worlds! Great work Cam! Tiger came 6th in the end out of 40 guys after many penalty points unfortunately. However still a great result considering his weight and height in those conditions compared to the other guys although he is still taller than me! Ha! That means it was USA, Brazil, France then Antigua and Barbuda (above all the other countries from around the world competing) in the top countries list. So Antigua is still in the top 4. We will have to see what happens to Tiger’s and Antigua’s number one ranking next week after the calculations have been made. Anyway let’s see what happens in the lighter winds for the USA, Canadian, Central American and Caribbean Olympic Qualifiers in the Dominican Republic in January! Tiger only has to beat everyone from those countries above to Qualifier. Easy eh! Bring it on!”
