Wednesday 14th September 2011

The world renowned Kingston Cricket Club (KCC) and Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) are among eight clubs which have been selected in the second round to benefit from the WICB Digicel Grassroots Club Grants Programme.

The home club of the legendary West Indies captain Clive Lloyd and former world record holder for most wickets in Tests, Lance Gibbs – the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) – has also been selected to benefit from the Grant Programme.

The club of former West Indies fast bowler Kenny Benjamin – Liberta Sports Club will benefit from the programme to build all weather batting nets.

GCC, which is based at Bourda will also use the grant to construct all weather batting nets; the same will be done by DCC.
