FOOTBALLERS SELECTED IN KICKSTART CLINIC
Tuesday 12th April 2016

Friday 8th April 2016 – St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda: Jahlany Jarvis, Raheem Deterville and Troy Jules were the top three players selected by the Manchester City FC coaches at the end of the Digicel Kickstart Clinic – an intense two-day training sessions held at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground last Friday.

The three boys were selected from a pool of Antigua and Barbuda’s top 30 footballers between the ages of 14 to 16 years from the two-day clinic hosted by Digicel and Manchester City FC.

Sowerby Gomes, the local coach who hosted the annual Easter tournament where the top 30 boys were selected for the clinic, commended the boys for their hard work and discipline, he said; “They worked hard for this so they deserve it. Only through hard work, dedication, and the right attitude; and the coaches were looking for these qualities and they saw it in them.”

Troy, Jahlany and Raheem are happy that they made the final cut and are excited that they will be joining their counterparts from 14 countries across the Caribbean and Central America in Jamaica for the Digicel Kickstart Academy in Jamaica. At the Academy, they will then be put through the paces by the Manchester City FC coaches for a week with the hopes of making the final eight who will then travel to Manchester City and train at the City Football Schools Academy.
