DIGICEL DONATE TO THE CARE PROJECT
Tuesday 11th February 2014

Running 26.2 miles in 30 degree weather at the PNG New York City Marathon was not an easy feat for Janice Sutherland, Commercial Manager at Digicel Antigua.  Not only was it was a personal challenge to run the Marathon, but Janice also did so in support of the CARE Project.

The CARE Project currently houses eleven children with varying forms of disabilities.   After a visit to the facility it was clear that Janice would be running for a cause and the CARE project will be at the top of her list.  She stated that “it took me quite a long time to train and prepare myself for the Marathon, however it was a very easy decision to decide to support the CARE Project. After one visit to the CARE facility, I started reaching out to family, friends and co-workers, sharing the work being done by the nurses and volunteers at the institution.  The patience and sacrifice that they give every day is deeply commendable and I am more than happy to make any contribution that I can to help assist the staff in offering only the very best for the patients.   I raised EC$6,000 through the generous donations of so many, I was able to make a contribution of diapers to the institution.”

As an employee of Digicel Antigua and Barbuda, Janice celebrates the culture of the company by going above and beyond, always seeking to find the extraordinary within.  The marathon was indeed a true test of that dynamic spirit, very much like each patients and staff at the CARE Project.
