EXTRAORDINARY ANTIGUA PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION WINNERS Monday 15th July 2013
Mobile telecommunications provider, Digicel, recently announced the winners of their Extraordinary Antigua Photography Competition. The competition open to all G.A.T.E. registered students in Antigua and Barbuda, set the challenge of capturing a photograph of the spectacular scenery- or people of Antigua and Barbuda – something that epitomised what pupils found extraordinary in their everyday lives, taken and edited using applications on a G.A.T.E. issued tablet.
The 1st place entry titled “The Boy under the Bridge” was awarded to Kayla Joseph - Antigua Girls High School. Kayla received a newly launched Digicel DL600 Android smartphone, EC$150.00 credit and EC$5000.00 towards art supplies for her school’s art department.
1st runner-up prize depicting a lively seascape went to Jeante Baltimore of Sir. Mc Chesney George in Barbuda. With the 2nd runner-up prize going to Ebunoluwa Prince of the Seventh-day Adventist School capturing well-known Dickenson Bay landscape jutting out to the sea. Each student won a Digicel DL600 Android Smartphone with credit and EC$3000 and EC$2000 for each of their schools respectively.
