DIGICEL ANNOUNCES EXCITING PROMOTIONS TO BRING FANS CLOSER TO CRICKET Friday 16th March 2012
The Digicel Series 2012 gets underway in St. Vincent this Friday, when the West Indies face Australia in the 1st Digicel ODI and the proud sponsor of West Indies Cricket is doing its part to ensure that fans, wherever they are, have direct access to the game and the players.
Once again, Digicel will be rolling out exciting cricket promotions and competitions throughout the region during the Series, which will rally fans around the game; fuel their passion for, and pride in cricket; and demonstrate how important the fans are to the sport and to Digicel.
One of the most exciting and innovative competitions that is sure to attract fans everywhere is the Wi’ Jersey campaign. West Indies cricket fans will have the opportunity to design their own “Team Windies” jersey through www.DigicelCricket.com. Fans actually create their shirt and submit through the site, and based on online votes, the top ten designs will be chosen. Those final ten designs will be posted on Digicel Cricket’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/DigicelWestIndiesCricket where the public can vote for their favourite by clicking the “Like” button. The design with the most votes wins – and Digicel will produce 1,000 jerseys of the winning design which will be given to the West Indies players to wear during Digicel Cricket Experience events and also to fans through radio promotions and at matches. The ten finalists will also each receive one of the winning jerseys, signed by the designer.
“We are very excited about the Wi’ Jersey competition,” said Karl Donnelly, Digicel Group Head of Sponsorship. “This contest gives West Indies fans a unique opportunity to show the world what they believe best represents West Indies cricket to them. It allows them to showcase their West Indies pride along with their design talent – and be rewarded for it.”
The winner of the Wi’ Jersey competition will receive a Digicel prize pack, have his/her signature attached to each jersey that is produced, and present their creation to the West Indies team. In addition, they will choose a local cricket team in their own country that will receive brand new cricket kit courtesy of Digicel. Click here for all News and Specials for
