VOUCHER PROGRAMME FOR BARBUDAN RESIDENTS

Close to three hundred Barbudan families will benefit from another government-facilitated voucher programme which begins on Friday, August 3rd.

The National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) has received 50 Thousand Canadian Dollars from the Canadian High Commission in Barbados, which will be distributed to families consisting of single-parents, the elderly, unemployed individuals and persons with special needs.

Vouchers will be given in denominations of two hundred, three hundred and five hundred dollars and will expire on August 31st.

Barbudan residents will be able to purchase food and other supplies from two supermarkets in Antigua and one in Barbuda. However, purchases on alcohol and cigarettes are not allowed.

Individuals are asked to contact NODS at 462-4206 to find out whether their names are on the list of beneficiaries.
